Dr. Richard Garratt

Dear Valued Patients,
After 35 incredible years of dedicated service at San Dimas Optometry, Dr. Richard Garratt has made the deeply emotional decision to retire. After months of careful consideration and meeting with potential candidates, Dr. Garratt and his team are delighted to welcome Dr. Suzan Burmayan as the newest member of our practice. Dr. Garratt personally selected Dr. Burmayan, confident that her values and commitment to compassionate, high-quality care mirror his own. For the next six months, Dr. Garratt will continue to practice part-time to assist with the transition before his official retirement.
Dr. Garratt’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. From the early days of building San Dimas Optometry with unwavering dedication to the countless hours spent caring for each and every patient, his commitment has always been at the heart of his practice. The joy of seeing patients’ lives positively impacted, the trust you’ve shown him, and the relationships built over the years have been profoundly rewarding. As he prepares to leave this cherished chapter behind, he feels an overwhelming sense of sadness, knowing he will miss the daily interactions and the incredible people he has had the honor to serve. The experiences and connections he has made will forever hold a special place in his heart.
We are excited to introduce Dr. Suzan Burmayan, who graduated as valedictorian from Western University of Health Sciences in 2017.
